Active Aging Week Nordic Pole Walking Try out Nordic Pole walking. Poles and a snack will be provided. Active Aging Week runs until Oct 7 Canyon Meadows Pool 9:15am-10:15am

Greg Kuhl Memorial Rice Run Take part in a 4km or 8km run to remember Greg Kuhl, an avid Calgary runner. Proceeds go to the SPCA and a medal and glory bowl dinner is included. Weaselhead 5pm

Fiver Fridays at the Spark The Spark has $5 Friday adult nights and this month’s theme is destressing. There will be yoga, puppies and stress ball making. 5pm-9pm

Oct 5

Greenway Lap Ride the 150km Greenway loop with some company. If you’ve never been before and have suboptimal map reading skills, you will definitely want company. Votier’s Flats 9am

The Great Inclusive Playground Scavenger Hunt Everyone can participate in this scavenger hunt and there is a prize for the fastest finishing team! 11am-2pm

Olympic Oval Open House Skate and park for free at the Olympic Oval. There will also be snacks. 2pm-6pm

Arthur Murray Open House Check out some demos and take part in some mini classes. There’s also bar service if you need it. 7pm

Oct 6

CIBC Run for the Cure Take part in the nationwide CIBC Run for the Cure. Wear your best pink and run or walk a 5km or 1km roue to raise money and awareness about breast cancer. Southcentre 8:30am-11am

Calgary Confederation Ride Your Riding Go on a bike ride with the Calgary Confederation candidates and find out their views on active transportation. St Patrick’s Island 10:30am-12:30pm

Outdoor Yoga If the snow melts, outdoor yoga will be on. You don’t know how many snow free weeks we have left, so take advantage if you can. 1pm Stanley Park 4pm Mahogany Square

Flow and Restore Yoga This explorative Flow and Restore class will focus on traditional intention; movement aligned with breath, as well as modern sequencing adapted for today’s stresses. Sunalta Community Hall 5:45pm-6:45pm By donation

30+ Active Adults Program There’s supposed to be another cold snap so head indoors and enjoy a game of badminton or pickleball. If those sports aren’t appealing there are also classes for strengthening and mobility, relaxation and the chance to walk and talk to a dietitian. Genesis Centre 9am-12pm Runs Year Round

Heart Health Learn about your heart and how to keep it healthy, as well as different heart conditions. Central Library 6:30pm=8pm

Accept Without Exception Campaign The Core Shopping Centre is running a campaign for Mental Illness Awareness Week. Get a free massage and depression screening. 12pm-1pm Runs Oct-7-11

Get your costumes ready. There’s 3 costumed runs coming up with the Halloween Howl, Dash of Doom and the Onesie Run so if you want to run in a costume, make sure it’s ready.
