Active Events in Calgary Sept 20-27
There’s lots of fun active family events in Calgary this week.
Sept 20
Experience The Reservoir Take part in an all ages scavenger hunt around the reservoir. Drop in anytime event is running. Glenmore Sailing School 12:30pm-2:30pm
PARK(ing) Day Kensington Park(ing) Day is an international day when parking spots get transformed into different spaces for people to view and interact with. It’s a great event to get outside, get some steps in and unwind before the weekend. Riley park is also closeby. 12pm-6pm
Sept 21
MEC Calgary Trail Race Three Take part in a 5km, 12km or 24km scenic run. Event is timed with medals for the top finishers. Canmore Nordic Centre 9am-12pm $20-$35
Parksfest This family event features carnival games and inflatables. There is also a vote to decide which community project should be awarded money to carry out their plans. Haultain Park 1pm-4pm
The Beach YYC Open House If you haven’t been now’s the perfect time to check out The Beach YYC. Adults can play beach volleyball, spikeball, dodgeball and crossnet while kids can play with sand toys or hop in a bouncy castle. The Beach YYC 12pm-5pm
Open House Try a Sport Day All ages can find something to try today with parkour, floor hockey, baseball (pitching/batting) and fitness classes being offered. You can also see where you stack up with some fitness challenges. Calgary Central Sportsplex 2pm-5pm
Sept 22
Crush Camp Open House Crush Camp has been running free classes the whole week and to top it off they’re having an open house Sunday with free classes, SkillMill demos, promos and prizes. Crush Camp East Village 9am-1pm
Art Walk Walk, bike or scooter to some of Calgary’s galleries and art spots in downtown, Inglewood and the Beltline. As well as getting to see art , There’ll be free artists talks, receptions, meet and greets and demos. Runs Sept 21 10am-5pm and 22 12pm-4pm.
Outdoor Yoga The sun is still shining and outdoor yoga is still running. This week you can also get some Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival tickets just for coming. Stanley Park 1pm-2pm Mahogany Master’s Square 4pm-5pm

Shoulder Check: Causes and treatments for non-arthritic shoulder pain If you have or have ever had a shoulder injury come learn about the best practices and treatments from sports medicine doctors and surgeons. University of Calgary 7pm-9pm

Vinyasa Flow Central Library Take part in a free Vinyasa flow class with a focus on asanas. 5:30pm-6:30pm Central Library
Mission District Run Crew Take part in a 6km-12km group run with beers and socializing afterwards. If you haven’t been in awhile there’s a new Mission District Run Crew shirt. The Tech Shop 7pm
Sept 26
Chestermere Walk Walk and learn about the history of Chestermere. If you want you can also actively commute there via the Irrigation Canal Pathway. Chestermere Public Library. 7pm-8:30pm
Sept 27
Outdoor Expo and Family Festival Take part in fun games and contests to win camping and outdoor gear. There will also be hotdogs and smore roasting to make your camping experience complete. Family friendly. St Patrick’s Island 5pm-9pm
