City Nature Challenge Make a contribution to science by helping document everything living in Calgary.All you need to do is download the app or head to https://inaturalist.ca/ . There’s tours in all quadrants of the city so you can go with a group and learn more about the trees, bugs, plants or animals in the city as well. Runs until April 29

Karma Yoga Yoga Enjoy a karma yin yang yoga class with a gong meditation at the end. Simply Yoga 6:15pm-7:15pm

Blacklight Buti Yoga Enjoy a fun blacklight yoga class to end off you week. Buti yoga is a dynamic form of yoga that also incorporates tribal dance. There is paint you can use for more blacklight fun as well as extra mats and wipes to take it off. Morpheus Theatre 7pm-9pm $25

Liferocks 5km Take part in one of the few night runs in Calgary.
Registration includes finisher’s medal, refreshments and a snack. Top 5 male and female finishers will also get a swag bag and trophy. St Patrick’s Island 7pm $25-$35

MEC Race Two MEC always has the most affordable races. This race will be at the reservoir with the choice of a 30km, 21.2km, 10km or 5km race. North Glenmore Park 8:30am-12pm $15-$30

Climb for Wilderness One of your only chances to climb up the 1,204 stairs of the Bow. There will also be entertainment and displays about the environment and wilderness. Registration includes a shirt. Money goes to the Alberta Wilderness Association. Bow Tower 8:30am-11:30am $50

Experience the Reservoir Explore the reservoir through a fun all ages scavenger hunt. May be cancelled due to weather. Glenmore Reservoir 1pm-4pm

Drake Yoga Take part in yoga to some Drake tunes followed by drinks and brunch. There’ll also be a marketplace and an inspirational speech. Commonwealth Nightclub 1pm-4pm $35 includes food and drink

April 28

Calgary Police Half Marathon Take part in a half marathon, 10km or 5m walk/run. There’s also a 1km walk for kids and seniors. There’ll be food, games, a photo booth and prizes. Money goes to the Police Foundation. You’ll also get a shirt and medal for racing. Mount Royal University 8am $45

Saje Yoga Take part in a flow class for all levels. Saje Mount Royal 9:30am-10:30am

Bend N Brew If you feel like doing some yoga but also drinking some beer this is for you. Start off with a one hour power yoga class and then relax and socialize with a flight of beer. Elite Brewing 10am start $25

Free Fitness at the Core Take part in Strong a martial art influenced bodyweight and cardio workout. It’s your last chance to catch this workout at the Core for the year, next month will be yoga. Devonian Gardens 11am-12pm

Decidedly Jazz $5 Class Week Try out some new dance styles for only $5. Classes for all levels. Runs until May 2. Various times.

April 30

Boxing and Tacos Take part in a 50 minute HITFIT class which involves HIIT and punch throwing. Afterwards you’ll head over to Salt and Pepper where it’s all you can eat taco night. Sweat Science 6:30pm start

May 1

Zero Waste Yoga Take part in a hatha style yoga class with nature inspired meditations. Alberta Ecotrust 6:30pm-8pm $5

May 3

Bike To Work Day If you haven’t pulled out your bike yet, today is definitely the day. Stop by Eau Claire and you’ll receive a free pancake breakfast, music, demos, tuneups and the opportunity to win prizes. $1 for every cyclist will be donated to Two Wheel View. If you can’t make it to Eau Claire there are pit stops set up around the downtown core with free snacks and tuneups. Eau Claire 6am-9am

Calgary Jane’s Walks start today and run until Friday. Take part in a free walk led by a volunteer and learn some interesting facts about an area. There’s 22 different walks scheduled for Friday covering topics like art, inclusion, history and more. All Around the City Various Times

Meow-Ga Take part in an all level restorative yoga class with kittens. Afterwards you enjoy wine, cheese and a shelter tour. Proceeds go to the Calgary Humane Society. 6pm-8pm
