August 2

Pure Cycle Outdoors Pure Cycle has moved to New Brighton for the rest of August so if you didn’t get a chance to try it out at the previous locations, now is your chance. New Brighton Park 13+ 9:30am-10:25am Arrive early to set up your bike

Run Club Glenmore Landing Run Club Crowfoot  Kick off your weekend with a run. All levels welcome. Glenmore and Crowfoot Running Rooms 6:30pm

August 3

Nosehill Park Run Take part in a scenic 5km run. Timing is available though the run is just for fun. After the run enjoy some coffee and socializing nearby. Nose Hill 9am 

Fix Bikes! Want to learn some more and get some practice in fixing bikes? This event is for you. Pizza and refreshments will be provided and volunteers will guide you on how to fix donated bikes. Bike Root 11am-4:30pm

Pick some Saskatoon berries. There’s plenty of saskatoon berries in Calgary parks to pick. Saskatoon Berry Farms is also just a short drive away.

August 4 

East Village Games Take part in your favorite lawn games at East Village. 11am-4pm

Stanley Park Yoga Enjoy an outdoor yoga class amidst the Stanley Park flowers. Open to everyone. 1pm -2pm By donation

Bikes and Breweries Cycling Tour Learn about Calgary’s brewing history on a leisurely 7km bike ride, ending off with some beers. Central Memorial Park 1pm-4pm Part of Historic Calgary Week

August 5

Injanation Play all day at Injnation for only $25. 10am-5pm

Downtown North Walking Tour Be a tourist in your own city. Take a WalkTheYYC tour of north downtown and see how much you know about Calgary’s famous sites, people and history. Calgary Tower 10am-1pm

Free Bike Repair Tools will be provided along with knowledgeable volunteers to guide you in how to tune and do basic repairs on your bike. There will also be a market and entertainment to enjoy. 10am-3pm

Family Bike Day Try out some Lime Bikes or Sccoters or learn the basics of bike repair. There’ll also be pathway maps, music and a kids zone. Cowboy’s Tent 10am-4pm

August 6

Hula Hooping with Infinite Hoops This isn’t your old school hula hoop. Hooping involves using a heavier hoop and is a great way to get some exercise. This free outdoor class is a great way to try it out to see if you like it. Harvest Hills Hub 7pm-8pm

August 7

Outdoor Fitness with GoodLife Try a different Goodlife Fitness Class outside every Wednesday. This week’s class is Peak bootcamp. Afterwards you can enjoy an energy treat from Freshii or Booster Juice. Deerfoot City Mall 5pm-6pm

Outdoor RollerSkate Parties Take part in a covered outdoor roller skate party. There will be DJs and skate rentals are available for $10 per hour. Cowboys Tent 6pm-10pm

August 8

O.T.M Ride Enjoy a bike ride to Ol’ Beautiful Brewery and a free beverage along with good company, conversations and prizes. 6pm Kit and Ace Mount Royal

Mid Summer Night Swing Take a dance class outdoors. You can try a different style of Swing Dance every week. No experience or partner necessary. The night will start off with a 1 hour beginner lesson followed by 2 hours of social dancing. Poppy Plaza 7pm-10pm $5

August 9

Kanfest Celebrate whitewater kayaking with events, clinics, competition, bbq and music. Aug 9-11 $75-$100

Mountain Hiking Adventure If you’ve ever wanted to participate in a sunset hike but didn’t feel safe in doing so, try out this guided easy sunset hike. You’ll also get to test out some new outdoor gear if you want. Prairie Mountain 6pm-8pm
