Eau Claire YMCA Free Fitness Classes The Eau Claire YMCA is offering free classes during Fridays for the summer. This week they have Group blast, a cardio workout using the step. A different class is offered each week. 12pm-1pm

Historic Calgary Week Starts Historic Calgary Week kicks off today. There are plenty of walking tours the whole week so you can learn some history while getting some steps in.
Inglewood Brewery Tour Walk along Inglewood and learn about Calgary’s brewing past. Zyn Wine Market 7:30pm-8:30pm

Trail Run Take part in a 6km or 8km guided trail run. Option to try out footwear from Salomon. Station Flats 7pm-9pm

July 27

CoronaXParley Cleanup Take part in a community cleanup. A vest and snacks will be provided. After the cleanup you can celebrate with a party at Earl’s Tin Palace. There will be a DJ, food and you can trade some plastic garbage for swag. 9am-12pm

Nikon Social Always wanted to take better nature photos? Go for a hike and learn some photography tips. Grassi Lakes 9am-12pm

Barrier Lake Hiking Take part in a 9.6km hike led by a guide. Barrier Lake 9:30am-4pm

Quidditch Take part in the last free Quidditch session for the summer. All ages and abilities are welcome, so if you haven’t tried before give it a shot. Olympic Heights School 10am-12pm

EP Ranch Tour Visit this privately owned ranch that was purchased by the Prince of Wales and is a provincially designated historic resource. 10am-12pm Part of Historic Calgary Week

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go! Take part in old fashioned games like egg and spoon races, sack races and more. You can also tour the church and learn about its history and future while enjoying refreshments. McDougall Memorial Church 1pm-3:30 pm Part of Historic Calgary Week

Highwood North Film Walking Tour Walk through High River and learn about its film history. 2pm-3pm

Free Community Sailing and Watersport Day Try out some sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding courtesy of the Calgary Yacht Club. Chestermere Lake 10am-6pm

Rugged Maniac Take part in a 3 mile mud run with over 20 obstacles thrown in. After the run enjoy a festival with a DJ and games. Registration also includes a shirt, medal, photos and beer. Spruce Meadows 9am-2pm $89-$99

July 28

Ruff Mud Take part in a mud run obstacle course with your dog. Eau Claire Market Sat/Sun 10am-4pm $15 Part of Petapalooza

Yoga with Puppies Take part in a half hour yoga class with puppies. Eau Claire Market Sat/Sun 10am-3pm $10 Part of Petapalooza

Painting in the Park Unwind, relax and explore your artistic side while enjoying a beautiful view of Calgary’s skyline. All supplies are included and there will be free refreshments. Rotary Park 11am-1pm

Blakiston Park Did you know Blakiston Park was on one of the first maps of Calgary? Learn more about it and see the current day park if you haven’t already. 7pm-8:30pm

Drop in Urban Trail Running Take part in a 6km-12km trail run through Fish Creek Park and get some trail running tips from Strides Running Store. Runs throughout the summer and Fall. Strides Fish Creek 6:30pm

Stephen Avenue Ghost Signage 7pm-8:30pm Adventure through Stephen Ave looking at the signs of ads and stores long past. 218 8th Ave 7pm-8:30pm Part of Historic Calgary Week

Bowness Walking Tour Learn about the history of Bowness and the different recreational amenities it has has over the years. 10am-11:30am Part of Historic Calgary Week

Silver Springs Yoga Enjoy a yoga class led by the YMCA in the beautiful Silver Springs Garden. 6:30pm-7:30pm Runs until August 27

Rouleauville/Mission Walk Check out what remains of Calgary’s French Canadian Village. 17th Ave and 1st St SW 4pm-5:30pm Part of Historic Calgary Week

First Shots Introduction to Padel Try out Padel, a racquet sport for free. There is equipment to borrow and an instructor will explain the game and lead you through activities before you play a game. You can take 3 sessions for free before deciding whether to commit to a membership. AE Cross Courts 6pm-7pm

August 1

Yoga in the Park Yoga class open to anyone 13+. Thomson Family Park 6pm-7pm Runs until Aug 22.

Mid Summer Night Swing Try a different style of Swing Dance every Thursday night. No experience or partner necessary. The night will start off with a 1 hour beginner lesson followed by 2 hours of social dancing. Poppy Plaza 7pm-10pm $5 Runs until Sept 5.

August 2

Pure Cycle Outdoors Pure Cycle has moved to New Brighton for the rest of August so if you didn’t get a chance to try it out at the previous locations, now is your chance. New Brighton Park 13+ 9:30am-10:25am Arrive early to set up your bike

Run Club Glenmore Landing,  Run Club Crowfoot  Kick off your weekend with a run. All levels welcome. Glenmore and Crowfoot Running Rooms 6:30pm
