Cheap and Free Summer Fitness Classes in Calgary 2019 Edition

Check out some of Calgary’s free and cheap fitness classes and activities in the summertime. You’re bound to find something fun and free, or close to free that will get you moving almost any day of the week.

Monday

Tuxedo Park Community Association Walk 15 Take part in a low impact walking based fitness class. 9am-10am Runs year round

Adult Chair Yoga A gentle seated yoga class. Strathcona, Christie and Aspen Community Association 11:45am-12:45pm $5.50

Chen Tai Chi Try a beginner tai chi class. Strathcona, Christie and Aspen Community Association 1:30pm-2:30pm $6.50

Drop in Urban Trail Running Take part in some trail run training. You’ll run through 6km-12km of trails in Fish Creek Park. Fish Creek Strides 6:30pm

Yoga Flow With Steph Take part in a yoga flow class designed for beginner to intermediate practitioners. Tuxedo Park 6:30pm-7:30pm Runs until Sept 23 $10 Membership Required.

Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Lessons Learn how to lawn bowl. The first 3 lessons are free. 7pm-9pm

Bike Polo Open to anyone that’s not afraid of playing polo on a bike. All you need is a bike, helmet and gloves recommended. Inglewood Rink 6pm

First Shots Introduction to Padel Learn how to play padel, a racquet sport and try out a game. You can try 3 sessions for free before deciding whether to commit to a membership. Equipment provided. 6pm-7pm AE Cross Courts

Summer of Satva Satva yoga emphasises physical postures, as well as breathing and meditation. It is suitable for all levels. Community Yoga Cochrane 6pm-7:30pm
