Dog Jog June 2

Great event for any dog lovers, you and your canine will get to walk or run a 2.5km or 5km route along the Weaselhead. Afterwards dogs and humans will get to celebrate their run with a festival. There will be kid friendly activities as well. Best of all money raised goes toward the Calgary Humane Society.

Millarville Run to the Farmer’s Market June 16 $70-$90

Choose between a half marathon, 3 person half marathon relay, 8 mile or 3km distance. Whatever distance you choose you’ll have great scenery and will end up finishing at the Farmer’s Market. If you choose the 8 mile you can choose to run as a bunner where you will eat cinnamon buns at 2 parts in the race. Other runners can also eat cinnamon buns during the race. All participants get a unique hand made medal made by an artisan at the farmer’s market, a shirt made with an artist at the farmer’s market and a swag bag.

Color Me Rad June 23 $25 USD

In this fun and color filled 5km there’ll be color stations set up to douse you in different colored powders and gels. You’ll also get a shirt and sunglasses with your registration.

Wanderlust August 11 $30-$150

If you just want to feel relaxed after a run then Wanderlust is for you. Run or walk a 5km and then take part in yoga, mediation and your choice of acroyoga, hopping, aerial yoga and more.

The Canada Beer Run September 9 $66.49

Taking it up a few notches from the beer mile, the Canada Beer Run is a roughly 10km course with 5 brewery stops where you’ll sample a selection of beers from each brewery. As well as the beer you will also receive a beer run shirt, buff and medal. Designated Driver not included.

Beat Beethoven September 13 $75-$95

Enjoy an evening run at St Patrick’s island while listening to Beethoven’s best tunes played by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. After you finish the 8km run you can enjoy a concert with music from their upcoming season along with some wine in a special glass that you’ll get to take home.

Rock the House Run September 16 $75

Choose to run a 10km, 5km or 1km course with local musicians, dancers and entertainers performing along the routes. After the run there’s lots of family fun with snacks, bouncy castles, artists, balloons and other children’s entertainment.

Terry Fox Run September 16

Take part in one of the most iconic runs in Canada. The Terry Fox Runs requires no registration fee or minimum donation but all funds raised and donated go to The Terry Fox Foundation. With 1km, 5km and 10km race options there is a race for everyone. Special guests and post race festivities also make the race extra special.

Top Scenic Runs

MEC Calgary Road Race May 5 $15

Stay in Calgary and enjoy the beautiful views of Fish Creek at one of the best value races. 5km, 10km, 15km and 30km options.

Woody’s RV World Marathon May 20 $60-$85

While Red Deer may not be the first place that you think of when you think of scenery this race takes you through Red Deer’s trails by the Red Deer River, something many people haven’t explored.

Five Peaks Canmore June 9 $55-$85

Enjoy a 7km, 15.5km or 21km race at the beautiful Canmore Nordic Centre where you’ll be running through forest surrounded by the mountains.

Iron Legs August 18 $100-$150

If you want to work for a really nice view, this is a race for you. Set in Moose Mountain the race distances are 60km, 50miles and 100km with lots of elevation gain. If this is a little much for you it can also be run as a relay.

Canmore Half Marathon September 9 $40-$100

Enjoy a 5km, 10km or half marathon in beautiful Canmore. Money raised goes to CAUSE Canada.

Dinosaur Valley September 9 $25-$70

Change up the mountain scenery with a trip to badlands. Half marathon, 10km and 5km options available.

Melissa’s Road Race September 22 $55-$85

After almost being cancelled Melissa’s Road Race is back. Take part in a race in one of the most beautiful places in the world, Banff. 5km, 10km and half marathon courses available. Race registration includes a tech shirt with local art, post race beer and snacks and entertainment.

Top Obstacle Course Races

X Warrior May 12 $69-$79

Calgary’s own homegrown obstacle course race. The 5km course takes you around the Stampede Grandstand. If that isn’t enough for you then you can get a second run in for free. You can also take it to the ultimate and sign up for a Titan allowing you to  complete as many laps as you can.

Wild Rose Rough Runner June 1-2 $85

Enjoy the mountains in the background as you race in a 5km course with 16-20 obstacles. You can also choose to take part in a 9 km trail run beforehand and a vertical 100m sprint.

Spartan Race June 9,10 $79-$159

Take part in one of the original obstacle course races. This year you’ll have the choice of a 5km course with 20-23 obstacles, a 13km with 24-29 obstacles and an intense team challenge called the Hurricane Heat. This race has some of the biggest and most intense obstacles and is great for those that are competitive and really want to push themselves. For obstacles that you can’t complete there is a 30 burpee penalty. It is also one of the most expensive races though.
